Keynote: The New Agility Model for Manufacturing SMEs
Biography:
Dr Adel Hejaaji is one of the expertise in business and engineering management, excellent combination of technical and business skills. He holds a PhD and MSc in Engineering Management from the Coventry University in UK. He spent the previous ten years at ESM Global, where he held research, development and training manager positions. His disciplinary research interests and areas of expertise are in operations management, project management best practices, industry benchmarking, lean manufacturing, as well as design and modelling of agility models in manufacturing, well respected and known particularly for SMEs. He has extensive experience of offering business advisory and technical support for SMEs, in both public and private sectors. He has published a number of papers and books in both languages English and Arabic. Dr Hejaaji has regularly a Keynote speaker, member of program committees and co-chair of numerous international conferences. Dr Hejaaji also a member of different professional bodies inside and outside UK.
Abstract:
Today’s manufacturing environment is characterized by dramatic and often unanticipated change. In this difficult and challenging situation, the manufacturing enterprise must develop and implement new and innovative strategies for competitive success. Among the most interesting competitive strategies being explored by manufacturing companies is the concept of the agile manufacturing. The Agile manufacturing represents a very interesting approach to developing a competitive advantage in today’s fast-moving marketplace. It places an extremely strong focus on rapid response to the customer demanding turning speed and agility into a key competitive advantage. An agile company is in a much better position to take advantage of this opportunity and fast changes in customer demand. This speech aims to introduce new model of agility for manufacturing SMEs which tested on 8 case studies and showing its impact in the SMEs Performance.
